A Day of Sadness
Thursday was your last day in the "Nursery" at daycare and Monday will mark your first day in the "Twos" class. This was a great day of sadness--sadness for your teachers that you've been with since September '07 and sadness for me because your new classroom is so "grown-up".
Parents were invited to the "end of the year" party at 2 on Thursday so I made sure to clear my schedule so I could attend. I made chocolate cupcakes (they were definitely a hit with all the kiddos) and spent an hour with you and your classmates that afternoon. I got some really cute pictures of you all and thankfully, I remembered to take a disposable camera so your teachers could get some good pictures of you all throughout the day for your scrapbook. I'm anxious to get those back!! I was told that there are some of you with both of your boyfriends--Whitman (little boy in first picture below) and Drew (little boy in second picture below) who you call "Mitman" and "Drew-Drew".
Thursday evening was open house so we got to see your new classroom and meet your new teachers. (We stopped by the Nursery to see all of your old teachers since they will be Aiden's teachers when he starts daycare next month). Your new room was a horrible reminder that my baby is not a baby anymore. No more cribs for naptime--you'll now be sleeping on little "cots". You will have an official schedule and will be learning things on a more structured time frame. No more high chairs for meals--you'll be eating at a table with toddler-sized chairs. I know you're still in daycare and this is in no way what it will feel like when you start kindergarten but I'm already apprehensive about this big change. I know you will do fine, especially since most of your friends are moving up to the new class with you.
Here are some pictures I took with the digital camera from the party.....

Re: A Day of Sadness
We are going through the same thing- I just learned Ava will be moving up a class and won't be napping in a crib anyone more. It's little heartbreaking watching them grow up so fast! It sounds like Harlee will have a great time in her new big kids classroom.
Best wishes for a smooth transition,
Lili
