Christmas 2009

This Christmas was really special to me. We didn't go anywhere. We stayed home the entire Christmas break!! You and Aiden were so much fun on Christmas morning!! Let me back up. On Christmas Eve, you and I baked Santa some candy cane shaped sugar cookies (which you dropped on the floor and broke on your way to put them under the tree...but shhhh, we didn't tell Santa that) and left him a glass of milk. We also baked the reindeer some snowmen shaped gingerbread men cookies (which you decorated).

On Christmas morning you guys woke up around 7:30 so I woke Dad up who had to set up the video camera, etc. Finally after about 30 minutes (he had to get some coffee, I had to make a Dr. Pepper, we turned on a Christmas CD to listen to while we opened, he had to let Donkey out to potty, etc.) we let you come into the kitchen (our Christmas tree was in the kitchen for a couple of reasons: our living room is way TOO small for a tree; we can shut the dog/baby gate to keep you guys out of the kitchen (and away from the tree). Since we didn't put any presents under the tree the days/weeks leading up to Christmas (so Donkey wouldn't demolish anything) your eyes lit up when you saw all the presents under the tree. You didn't know what to think. As soon as you opened one present, you were ready to tear into another one! Some things that Santa and mommy/daddy bought/brought you include: fireman & veterinarian dress up, big tall baby doll, tricycle, huge playdo activity center, books, clothes, bodywash & loofah, chapstick, Tag Jr. reading system & 4 books, barbies, Sleeping Beauty DVD, Chutes & Ladder and Disney Princess memory games, talking/moving baby doll and I'm probably forgetting some stuff--but you got a TON of stuff!!

Then later that afternoon Grandma came over to have Christmas lunch/dinner with us. Daddy deep fried a turkey and I cooked a ham, hashbrown casserole, green bean casserole, crescent rolls and a pumpkin pie and apple cobbler. The gifts you received from her were a My Little Pony, Barbie car, pajamas, books, and puzzle.

We've had so much fun playing with all your new toys. Here are some pics from our fun-filled day.

P.S. The first picture is a pic of the gingerbread man you made at school the week of Christmas...
